It’s such an easy thing to do us putting our trust in those we think will save us:
A best friend who’s always there for us; A spouse to unconditionally love us; A boss who has our future best interest in mind; A pastor who can be all things to all people.
our expectations become unrealistic when we are misplacing our need for a divine Savior and wanting these people to become something they can never and should never be in our lives.
Until we realize that what we’re ultimately longing for is a Savior, all lesser solutions and lesser loves will disappoint and disillusion us.
What are you holding to? What are the idols in your life that you need to get rid off? Are you ready to take that step of Faith that only our Lord Jesus Christ will reside in your heart and everything else diminishes?
Our Salvation must not be sought anywhere else other than in the son of God, Jesus Christ. Amen.
