"For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand.” - 1 Samuel 17:47b ESV
When the Philistine Goliath challenges Israel. David, man of God, full of faith, replies to Goliath, "“You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel" - 1 Samuel 17:45 ESV.
The People of Israel didn't really believe that the battle was God's, but David would give them proof. David fought on behalf of all Israel. If they weren’t trusting in the LORD, David would trust for them. David knew that he belongs to God, so his battles are God's battles. And he is for God and he can win the battle through God, because he was confident that Who is in him is greater than he who is in the world. ("Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." - 1 John 4:4 ESV)
YOU ARE NOT WORTHLESS:
"For thus said the Lord of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye:" - Zechariah 2:8 ESV
Here, Zechariah 1:2-6, God pleads with His people: “Return to Me,” says the LORD of hosts, “and I will return to you,” and turn now from their evil ways and their evil deeds.
And God promises to protect His precious people. He who touches you touches the apple of His eye: The "apple of His eye" refers to something precious, easily damaged, and in need of protection. Through out the Bible, we can see His people are so precious to Him.
YOU ARE MY TREASURE:
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. - 1 Peter 2:9-10 ESV
As God's children, we are special. It may seem that museum items are quite ordinary, but they may be significant because they once belonged to some celebrity. The work of God makes ordinary people special, because He works in them.
I LOVE YOU:
"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:12 ESV
God's Love translates the Greek word "Agape". In Greek, there were four distinct words for Love .
I AM NEAR:
"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." - James 4:8 ESV
Eros: Romantic or passionate love was referred to as "Eros".
Philia: Our love for those close to us, whether family or friends, is called "Philia".
Storge: Specifically, "Storge" refers to family love that is expressed in affection and care.
Agape: The concept of "Agape" describes a different type of love. A decision-driven love rather than a spontaneous one; as much of a matter of the mind than the heart, since it chooses to love the undeserving.
"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." - James 4:8 ESV
In conclusion, Jesus says, " You are mine."
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine." - Isaiah 43:1 ESV
