Caring, Protective Shepherd

“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all” - (Isaiah 53:6). Thoughts for Today Throughout the Old Testament, we see an image of God as our caring, protective shepherd. We read in Psalm 23:1-2: “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.” And in Isaiah 40: “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young” (v. 11). As God’s sheep, we can take comfort in knowing that our Good Shepherd loves us enough to go after the one lost sheep. He shows His love for us through His vigilance, faithfulness, and commitment to pursue that one wandering sheep; and when He finds the sheep, He joyfully carries him all the way home. We may think that we are the ones who found God—but God was the One who pursued us. And just like God never rests until

ANSWER: The Bible don't mention or say that people in heaven cannot look down on us. However, it is most unlikely that they can. People in heaven must be most likely occupied with worshipping God and other activities that is taking place there. Whether or not they in heaven can look down and see us, we are not running our race for them. Our hope is not for their approval or listening for their applause. We are here to run our race focusing on Jesus. Hebrews 12:2 - keeps our focus where it belongs: “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” Jesus is our blessed hope, no other ( Titus 2:13 ). Amen.

Prayer for Healing and Comfort💖

Jehovah-Rapha is our restorer. He is our healer of not only physical illness, but of the hurts in our heart and soul. In the book of Exodus 15:26, our God introduces His name as Jehovah-Rapha, “the Lord who Heals.” The word Rapha means "to heal, to cure, to restore." He does not promise to heal us only in an isolated instance of illness or need. Rather, God says He is healing. By calling Himself Jehovah-Rapha, He is saying, "Healing is what I am." When we are emotionally overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, grieving, or distressed, God is there for us. Only God can repair a broken heart. Only God can purify an unclean soul. Only God can set us free from addictions. Only God can heal us of sin. The Scriptures tell us, “He [Jesus] himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24). Dear Heavenly Father, You see the brokenness and pain inside me. You hear me cry.
