Thursday Blessings - Guard our heart 💛

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." - Proverbs 4:23

WOW!

EVERYTHING we do flows from our heart and notice it is not from our mind.

Heart is a collection of all kinds of emotions ranging from love, sadness, happiness, irritation, hate, anger and so forth. Heart is also a place of courage and strength representing  the choices that we make in life.

When we hold onto past wounds and hurts, what happens is, we tend and try to holdback from  people and also God himself. But, when we let Him in, we will find rest, healing, refreshment and rescue mixed with hope which result in gaining our faith and trust back in the Lord. When our heart heals and trusts God we will find growth, maturity and health in our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state of our lives.

So, How do we guard our heart?

Proverbs tells us to love God's word and to do them. Out of the overflow of our hearts we do things in life. Therefore, love with all your heart, the way Jesus loves us, and everything we do will flow from that love which God poured into us. Some of the ways we can train ourselves to guard our heart is by taking every thought captive and giving them to God. Next, we can pray and meditate on God's word.  Another way, is to reflect on Jesus' character and align our actions with His.

Today, ask God what part of your heart you need healing and how you can guard your heart away from all distractions, harm and evil things. Keep close to God and continue offering yourself to Him and if any hurt and broken things remains, go to God in prayer and receive His healing. He is calling you to His standards of living the abundant life of love, grace, peace, joy and rest in HIm. God bless.

PRAYER:

Dear God, thank you for this beautiful day. Thank you for your unconditional love. I am glad you came to my rescue before I stumbled. I pray you show me how to keep my heart from distractions. Bless me to be more like you so that I can do all things that pleases you and I can overflow with abundant life in Christ Jesus. Amen.
