"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7
Are you experiencing challenging times in life?
Elijah was a Prophet who did such wonderful miraculous things during his time. He had great faith. At Elijah’s word, the rains stopped, a jug of oil never ran dry, kings trembled, a boy was raised from the dead, fire fell from the sky, revival broke out, and hundreds of idolatrous prophets of Baal were executed. And then, there were times where he felt hopeless, alone and afraid. Elijah’s life was filled with turmoil too. He was a human just like us. He had low self-esteem and wanted to die. Also, He needed to sleep and had to be encouraged to get up and nourish himself.
At times he was bold and decisive, and at other times fearful and tentative. (You can read his story in 1 Kings 17)
Every day each of us face situations. And we have a choice. We can respond to those situations with faith or with fear. But even if we respond with fear, God begins a process of bring us back closer to Him.
Just like the events in Elijah's life, discouragement, and challenges are bound to happen.
But it does not end there, we are able to see God display Himself in mighty works of power and judgment such as fire, whirl winds and earthquakes. He want us to know he is right by us.
Today, wherever you find yourself, Whether you are on your way to Mount Carmel, to the desert, to Zarephath, or in a cave, please know God is willing to meet you right where you are and work with you to get you to the place He has for you. He is patient and compassionate.
He wants to hear us process our struggle. Talk to Him. Do not be discouraged or anxious, instead, be courageous and bold in God. He will open the streams of blessing that you cannot see. He will pave the way. Let the Lord lead you. Be prayerful, thankful and keep shouting your praises to Jesus in all situations. He will carry you through. God bless.
Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for this beautiful day. Cover my life with your power and glory. When I am anxious and not myself please give me courage and fill my heart with your boldness. Lead me to be more prayerful, grateful and celebrate Jesus at all times. I Pray your peace over me. In Jesus name, Amen.
