Friday Blessings - There is no hurry, when you are resting in Jesus! ๐Ÿ’›

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28

In this crazy, most demanding, chaotic and hurry based busy world, we find ourselves lost and is conditioned to keep moving to the next big thing, then to another next great thing and continue to be busier than ever. There are very few moments of rest in most of our days, right?

The only source to rest our souls truly is to rest and abide in Jesus. He wants us to slow our pace, pause and reflect on what's going on in our lives. He wants us to sit back and think about what our true and important priorities are.

Jesus don't mind you praying or listening to God's word on a podcast, worshiping Him with Christian hymns and songs, while washing the dishes, doing the laundry and other household chores. We can increase understanding and even time with Him in those little moments but we are also at risk of becoming distracted.

In order to receive the rest your soul desires and seek from the Lord, you have to trust He will provide you with rest. Jesus is the only person who can meet us where we are and give our weary souls the rest we need.

Don’t be ever afraid to take a Break and sit down in the presence of Jesus. Taking breaks is important. In Luke 10:38-42, we hear the story of two sisters, Mary and Martha. Martha is busy preparing everything for Jesus and Mary sits at his feet. When Martha inquires about getting Mary’s help, Jesus tells her that Mary chose what was better. It is okay to take a break and rest in God’s presence. The Bible warns us not to become lazy, but it also encourages finding rest for your soul in Jesus Christ.

When you are worn out, beaten and empty, we can turn to God to find peace and relief from all our burdens.

Few ways to find rest in Jesus is by:

1: Unplugging all kinds of distractions: (Phones, tablets, TV, Social media etc.) When you do this it refreshes your soul to look forward to talk your heart out to Jesus.

2: Being grateful: Take some time to thank God for how far He brought you. This helps cultivate a closeness to Him. Jot down one thing you are grateful for in your journal. Keep record of all the things you are thankful for.

3: Studying the Bible: Not just reading, or meditating but memorizing the word of God. Take time to learn the word of God so you have it stamped in your heart and can recite and pray the promises. This is very important. Learning the word of God and putting it into practice brings restoration and healing.

4: Praying: Take time to chat with God. No prayer is too small for God. Trust He loves you and cares for you. Whatever is on your mind matters to God.

5: Being calm and still in His presence: It is important at times to just listen in the quiet. Go out in nature and enjoy the wonder of God. Be still and enjoy. In the stillness or in a storm Jesus is your Calm. Lay down all your burdens, unwind, cast away all your cares you have in front of Jesus. Let Him take care of it for you.

Prayer:

Dear God,

Thank you for being my source of strength and security. Thank you for being my calm place during all the storms that rush in. Today, I lay all my worries at your feet because I trust you with my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
