ANSWER:
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. (Proverbs 3:7-8)

ENCOURAGING WORD:
God’s Wisdom is Much Better than Gold

“How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” - Proverbs 16:16.

Thoughts for Today

Gold. A metal so precious that it has become the obsession of people by the millions. Its value is generated in part by its scarcity.

In his book, The Power of Gold, Peter Bernstein described the process required to produce just one ounce of fine gold in South Africa, the source of most gold in the world today.

The mines “reach down as far as twelve thousand feet and the temperature reaches 130 degrees.” More than 400,000 people work in these mines. This effort “requires thirty-eight man hours, 1400 gallons of water, electricity to run a large house for ten days, 282 to 565 cubic feet of air under straining pressure, and quantities of chemicals including cyanide, acids, lead, borax, and lime.”

Bernstein’s book points to a clear conclusion: People have come to value gold so highly that they’re willing to go to incredible lengths to secure just one ounce!

The Bible teaches that God’s wisdom is much better than gold. Yet, like the search for gold, if we want wisdom, we must value it, dig for it, seek it, and search for it.

The Bible tells us that God is ready to give us more wisdom and unlock more secrets of His Kingdom. He wants to open our minds to understand more of His truth and help us experience the fulfillment of more of His promises. But we have a part to play.

Are you facing important decisions in your life? Do you need God’s wisdom? Think about His promises and all that He offers. Take time to ask Him for His wisdom. Seek His face, and cry out for understanding and discernment.

Dig into His Word like a miner seeking pure gold. Remember His promise: If you are diligent to seek Him, He will give you a level of wisdom you’ve never known before!

Prayer : Our Loving Heavenly Father,
These are difficult issues I’m facing: ___________. I need Your wisdom. Open my mind to Your truth as I dig deeper into Your Word. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.
