When you face difficulties in this life, and you will, don’t run from God, rather RUN TO HIM, praising and thanking Him for all you have in Him despite the difficulties and hardship you are experiencing.
Praising God in the difficult times is not easy, but by remembering our God is unchanged, He provides us with salvation, He is Sovereign, and He causes us to be triumphant in Christ.
It is easy for us to thank God when things are going well, but it’s not so easy to praise God when you are going through hard times.
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.” - 2 Corinthians 2:14
Realizing the difficulty of thanking God in the hard times is what makes Habakkuk's words so amazing. Habakkuk chapter 3 says,
“ Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights. “ – Habakkuk 3:17-19
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
