ENCOURAGING WORD:
Jesus the Messiah, the King
31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. - (Luke 1:31,32) (NKJV).

Thoughts for Today

2000 years ago, every Jew believed that a Messiah will be sent by God and he will deliver them from the tyranny of the Roman Empire and prayed to God for that every day. In those days it was the dream of every virgin girl that she should be the Messiah's mother.

In this context, what a joy it would have been to Mary when the angel came to her and announced the birth of the Messiah through her! The words that came out of her mouth when she went to greet John the Baptist's mother. She said, "For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed." (Luke 1:48) Seeing her humility and purity, the Lord sent the Messiah to the world through her. As we have just celebrated Christmas throughput this world, it is important to meditate upon why Jesus was born as a human being.

We read in Hebrews 9:22 that without shedding of blood there is no remission (of sins). During the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, they built altars and sacrificed animals. In Solomon's days, the temple was built and sacrifices were offered in it. When the temple was destroyed, the sacrifices and offertory were stopped. Until today sacrifices are not offered. In 70 AD after Jesus Christ, the temple built by King Herod was destroyed by Titus as Jesus prophesied. As Jesus shed His blood and wiped out sin, no more sacrifice is necessary.

The Lord willed to send the Lamb of God Jesus Christ to this world as a
sacrifice to bear the sins of the world. His blood alone is sinless and pure.
Because of His vast and deep love, the Father God sent His only Son to redeem the people of this world. "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He (Jesus Christ) entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption". - (Hebrews 9:12).

"For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled,
separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people's, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself." (Hebrews 7:26-27) He was born only for that. As He came to the world 2000 years ago and gave Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of our ancestors, ours and our descendants, sins were removed from us. Our souls were redeemed. God transformed us, the sinners ino heirs of the Heavenly Kingdom.

He was born in a manger in an animal shed as there was no room in the inn. He is going to come again, but not in poverty bus as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords to judge this world. Amen. Hallelujah!

Bu we think of Him still as a small baby. That is why we are still singing lullabies to Him. He is not a baby anymore. He is the King of kings who won over the sin, curse and death on the cross. When He returns He will come as a judge to judge us. Let us keep that in mind. May God bless us!

Is this the Messiah!
Who leads us like a shepherd!
He desires to die for the humans
Such a Love He has for us!

Prayer: "Our loving Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us Your Son because of Your boundless love. We praise You for Jesus Christ's birth, death and resurrection and His continuous intercession for us sitting at the right hand side of You. We eagerly await Your Son's return as the King of kings. Come soon, Jesus and draw us to You. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen.
