In the book of Exodus 15:26, our God introduces His name as Jehovah-Rapha, “the Lord who Heals.” The word Rapha means "to heal, to cure, to restore." He does not promise to heal us only in an isolated instance of illness or need. Rather, God says He is healing. By calling Himself Jehovah-Rapha, He is saying, "Healing is what I am."
Jehovah-Rapha is our restorer. He is our healer of not only physical illness, but of the hurts in our heart and soul. When we are emotionally overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, grieving, or distressed, God is there for us. Only God can repair a broken heart. Only God can purify an unclean soul. Only God can set us free from addictions. Only God can heal us of sin. The Scriptures tell us, “He [Jesus] himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24).
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You today and ask for healing. I pray for anyone who is ill, anyone with a broken heart, anyone with a physical pain, anyone who is suffering from consequences of sin and ask for complete healing. I pray for restoration. I pray for revival. Please let Your Holy Spirit fall on every one of us and touch us. May reconciliation abound. Thank You for today. Thank You for the freedom we have in Christ. Thank You for being our comfort, our refuge, our God in Jesus' name AMEN! ❤️
