You can try your best to please them. You can try avoiding conflicts. If something goes wrong you can over-apologize. You can always say the right things. You can put their needs before your own. You can do your best to be who everyone else wants you to be. And forever go on to do all the right things to keep them happy!
But, Sweetheart, let me tell you doing all this will leave you absolutely exhausted! It’s going make you feel miserable because this ain’t gonna happen. It’s going to make you feel like a failure, teared up, and let down. One big mess.
Quit pleasing them! Unfortunately, they sure going to twist what you said, how you do things and change the way how others see’s who you are and let you down in the end. It’s bound to happen.
Take a moment, step back, pause, breath, sincerely love, chase humility, kindness, goodness and peace. They sure can’t twist who you are on the inside. They cannot twist that heart who is confident in the Lord God. The only person you have to please and serve is the one above — who deserves it all. Live a life pleasing and serving for the audience of one, Christ alone. ❤️
