"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118:24
What a beautiful day to Rejoice, Celebrate and to be glad. The Lord made this day. Whether you are in the morning, mid-day or the evening, the day you are in right now, God made it. He created this day. His grace is on this day. His mercy is on this day. The very fact that we have this day is because God has given it to us. The very fact that we are experiencing it is because God is giving us breath at this moment. It infuses meaning into a day to know that God has made it. God has designs for it. God has a purpose for it. God is working in it. It brings joy to know God’s given you and me breath. He’s given us a life. Rejoice and be glad. Let’s be glad in that we have another day to live for his glory and we have another day to live for our good, our joy in it. And so we pray:
Dear Lord,
I am grateful that, once again, you have offered me a new day as an incredible gift to unwrap and enjoy. Thank you that it is not a blank slate waiting to be filled, but a treasure chest beckoning to be explored. We pray, God, that you’ll help us to be faithful today as we wait for that day. Help us to prepare people today for that day. God, we pray that you will use us to lead somebody to Jesus today. God, what an awesome day that would be. Help us to live toward that end. Thank you Lord for your sweet sweet power and grace over us. Thank you for everything, Lord. I love you and I trust you much. In Jesus name, Amen.
