Is making others happy, making you feel miserable?

Is making others happy, making you feel miserable?

It is true, sometimes serving others can make us feel  demotivating.

This happens because we are trying to over exert ourselves to please people. To belong in their circle. To fit in. The desire to meet up the status quo.

We are afraid to miss out.

It is absurd that FOMO (Fear of missing out) is such a real thing! Seriously!

I agree to some extend most of us easily fall prey into people-pleasing behaviors. It is such a destructive pattern. We forget to fulfill our divine purpose in life while we engage to flatter others.

God wants you to prioritize what He says about you than what others think. He strongly wants you to live your life without being anxious about what others think, their opinions and  expectations about you or about things in this life. He wants you to create and maintain healthy boundaries from the guilt bombers, the pushers, the whiners, and the pouters who try to put you on the spot and calls the shots in your life. And not only that God wants you to learn how to navigate the tension between God and loving your community. He wants you to walk closely and confidently with Him, despite what others say.

"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."  - Galatians 1:10

It's time to end this nasty game of people-pleasing and finally enjoy the Peace and Joy that Jesus can fill you with.

Do not open the door for the enemy when He knocks. We must learn to trust God during our hardest days, when people are not so great. Most importantly, this also calls for us to demonstrate the power of the gospel to everyone around us. When   we are weak , He is strong. His Grace is sufficient for us. Lean onto Jesus.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9

Let's Pray:

Dear Lord,
Thank you for today. I pray you help me to lean onto you and to continue trusting all that you have to offer me. I do not have to be afraid of missing out on anything, for you are with me. You continue to be my refuge and my strength. I lean onto you today. In Jesus name, Amen.
