Hagar, an Egyptian salve, names the one true God of this vast universe, “ El Roi - The God who sees”
She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered. - Genesis 16:7-14
WOW! The God who sees! What an incredible moment for Hagar a slave. She is beneath in so many levels because of her status. Yet, God reaches out, extends His mighty hand, showers her with favor and love. Redeems her flight. Rescues her from her misery. WOW!
We may not be slaves like Hagar. But, we in some ways are all slaves to sin.
But, Father God in His mercies, faithfulness, love, kindness, generous, gracious heart decided to rescue us. He saw our misery, the sin that trapped, chained and entangled us. He extended His redeeming love towards mankind and send Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. He bore it all so that we would be redeemed and saved. (John 3:16)
He saw our unformed bodies and loved on us. He delicately knit us together and fashioned us in the most fearful and graceful manner. (Psalm 139) His eyes are watching us. Every move we make, He is watching. He is right by to hold us together, to correct and to wrap us with His protection, love and joy.
God is watching over us, my friend. He knows you, He hears you and He sees all about you. Don't be discouraged. Don't fear. He is the Great I AM who is with you! God bless.
