Eagle🦅 Vs Chicken🐔

An eagle's egg was found by the farmer one day, and he picked it up and put it under one of his hens. The little eagle was hatched along with all the other chickens when all the eggs had hatched. The mother hen immediately began rearing her chicks as she often does, and the little eagle was treated exactly the same way. Growing up, he assumed he was just another chicken among chickens, part of the family. Therefore, he began to learn the things that all little chickens learn: going around the barnyard, pecking for worms.
After that, he learned to fly a few feet, first very awkwardly and then pretty well. By flying only a few feet at a time, he continued to live. When he was much older, he looked up in the sky and saw a beautiful majestic bird riding on the winds, and he turned to one of his friends and said, "I wish I could fly like that." And he asked them, "What kind of bird is that?"

His friend said, "Oh, that's an eagle." Eagles are birds of the sky, whereas chickens are birds of the ground. When the old Eagle heard his friend say that the bird was a bird of the sky and he was a bird of the ground, a part of him felt caught in that moment of seeing that bird in the sky that evoked a longing in him to fly a few feet to eat worms, but worms had never satisfied his hunger, and flying never seemed to satisfy either. He suddenly realized that he was facing a life-changing decision. I had to decide whether to carry on with my life the way I have always lived or do whatever it takes to fly like that bird. After contemplating that for a while, he decided he would rather fly like that bird than simply accept his current circumstances. His life has changed forever because of the decision he made to fly.

While today's story lesson applies to all of God's children. God will stir up our nest (our comfortable places of ease) to motivate us to grow, to mature, to depend on the Lord so that we, too, will renew our strength and mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, and walk and not faint. - See Isaiah 40:30-31

"Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings LIKE EAGLES;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:30-31 ESV
