For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
Halloween is right around the corner and everyone is in the hustle and bustle of buying costumes and doing scary decorations. Even the so called Christians are also busy getting ready for celebrating this day.
I know it is hard when churches have truck and treat and all that fun way of celebrating Halloween.
I hope Churches gather these families and kids, ok have fun, but plant seeds of the love of God and explain the evil behind celebrating this day.
The world we live in offers abundant things and its ways to direct us, but it doesn't offer eternal life found only in Kingdom living.
Kingdom living is the realm of the understanding in being created by God for His purposes, which is sincere love, Peace, Grace, Mercy, goodness, and above all Forgiveness, a true relationship with your Heavenly Father and His Spirit heart.
We are not meant to be on the outside looking in, but on the inside safe and secure from all alarms. It begins with accepting The Love of The Father, through Christ's redemption offered by The Cross.
All these earthly vessels will perish one day, where will your soul go? Where do you want to go?
We truly are living in the last days now. The Lord is coming back for His people that are living holy lives for Him.
Have you wondered what the Bible says about all these celebrations?
There are so many Scriptures, where it is clear, that we are not to participate in such activities and celebrations.
Sharing few Bible Verses below:
"You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons." - 1 Corinthians 10:21
"Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." - Ephesians 5:11
"To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled." - Titus 1:15
"And give no opportunity to the devil." - Ephesians 4:27 "
"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8
"But test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil." - 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!" - Isaiah 5:20
"The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light." - Romans 13:12
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." - James 4:7
God keeps warning us over and over again through out scripture, not to practice and participate or indulge in such practices, because it is evil, and it is full of lies and manipulations!
God already has good and greater plans stored in abundance for you.
In case, you are going or celebrating halloween for the fun of it or maybe because its a peer pressure thing, please take a moment to pause and ask yourself, if all this is necessary in the light of eternity, and also take time to engage your kids/grandkids in an activity that explains why this celebration is not accepted by God and fun costumes we can wear on other days, not on the day it is celebrated, because God's plans for you are good and not to be wasted on celebrating silly evil activities.
There is enough evil and chaos in the world, but you keep fueling your kids/grandkids at this young age with the love and light of Jesus.
One of the ways you can use this time is to read a book or do an activity with your kids, by reflecting about being grateful. One of the cool books that you can read during this time fall season is, "The Pumpkin Patch Parable" you can buy this book for a good deal, which I am sharing here, you can check it out, - I promise, you won't be disappointed, I have read it multiple times to all my children, we still do and carve out pumpkins and share this parable during that Pumpkin carving activity. This book shares about the love of God through a farmer and about how we can shine the light of God to others during this time of the season. A great book to read for kids ages 3 and up. Enjoy and have fun!
Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for this grand day. I pray you plan my decisions. Convict me of things that I should not be engaging in. Cover me with your grace, wisdom and peace as I make plans over the next coming days. I want to surrender and yield to the perfect plans you have for me. In Jesus's precious name, Amen.
God bless.
