“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time” - Colossians 4:5
To redeem means to buy it back, to regain possession of something. God gave us a gift called time, and nobody knows how much of it is allotted. Have you heard of this expression, that time and tide waits for no man? Only God knows how much time each of us has on this earth to make decisions that will impact eternity.
God wants us to be aware of the time that we are living in. He wants us to be cautions and make a Christ like impression of the time we have on this earth. Instead of wasting lavishly and foolishly by entertaining ourselves, which does not make a lasting impact, He wants us to abide by the scripture and walk in it diligently.
One of the ways to redeem time is by asking God to help us. Looking for ways to show His love towards others by helping out, volunteering, serving at church, leading a ministry, taking Bible studies, being a friend who needs a friend and such.
When we read, James 4:14, it reminds us that our earthly lives are no more than a fog that appears and then quickly evaporates. Everything that we make on this earth will fade away soon, which includes, money, fame, power, relationships, possessions etc. All that remains of our lives on earth is that which was invested in eternity. Therefore, dear friend, make time now, to do the will of God. God bless.
Prayer:
Dear God,
Today help me to walk in wisdom to redeem my time wisely. Help me to discern your will. Thank you for your support and faithfulness over and over again. I won't be able to do this life without you. Thank you for being by my side. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
