What are the seven things God hates?

For a list of sins in the Bible, Proverbs 6:16-19 is a great place to look. In it, we see a list of seven sins God hates, 7 deadly sins. If you are wondering, does God hate, or what does God hate, the list of sin in Proverbs 6:16-19 is a good place to look.

God hates these things because they destroy the very ones that He loves: His people.
  1. Haughty Eyes – Do not be wise in your own eyes.
  2. A Lying Tongue – Do not lie to one another.
  3. Hands that Shed Innocent Blood – "When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” - Matthew 27:3-4
  4. A Heart that Devises Wicked Plans – How they might destroy others. The Bible tells us that just the thought of sin is as bad as the act of sin. Proverbs 23: For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Jesus said that all wickedness begins in the heart. Mark 7: "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.''
  5. Feet that Run Rapidly to Evil – Preaching a gospel contrary to that which you received
  6. A False Witness Who Utters Lies – secretly induced men to say
  7. One Who Spreads Strife Among Brothers/Sisters – those who cause dissention and hindrances.
These are wrongs people commit against each other! God is not pleased when we wrong each other.
He has told us to do the opposite!
Zechariah. 8:17 - Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these are what I hate,’ declares the Lord.”

Matthew 22: “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

"The essential vice, the utmost evil, is pride. Unchastity, anger, greed, drunkenness, and all that, are mere fleabites in comparison. It was through pride that the devil became the devil. Pride leads to every other vice; it is the complete anti-God state of mind.” - C. S. Lewis
